Biographical NotesJun ChenDr Jun Chen was born in Anhui on September 28, 1967. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Nankai University with a B.S degree in 1989 and a M.S. degree in 1992, respectively. He further earned a Ph.D. in the Department of Materials Engineering at Wollongong University (Australia) in 1999. Before he was back to take a specially-appointed Professor at Nankai University in 2002, he held the NEDO fellowship at National Institute of AIST Kansai Center (Japan) for three years. Dr Chen was awarded the National Distinguished Young Scientist Foundation (NSFC), the Trans-Century Training Program Foundation for the Talents and Chang Jiang Scholars (Ministry of Education), Wicke international MH prize, and Tianjin Natural Science 1st prize. He has made contributions in areas such as energy storage/conversion materials, nano chemistry, batteries, fuel cells, and solar cells. He has authored more than 100 papers, 18 (CN, US, and EU) patents, and 4 books. His memberships include the advisory board of SolidState Sciences, Frontiers of Chemistry in China, and Chinese Journal of Power Sources.
