Biographical NotesKam LeongKam Leong is the James B. Duke Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. He received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and a postdoctoral training at MIT. At Duke University, he is leading a research initiative on applying nanotechnology to drug, gene, immuno-, and cell therapy. He also directs the Stem Cell Bioengineering Laboratory at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School in Singapore. The major research areas of his laboratory involve application of nanostructures to medicine, in using nanoparticles for drug and gene delivery, and in applying nanofibers and nanopatterns for stem cell tissue engineering.
