Biographical Notes

Bing Xu

Bing Xu received his BS and MS from Nanjing University in 1987 and 1990, and his PhD in 1996 from the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Timothy Swager. After one year work at MIT, he was an NIH postdoctoral fellow with George Whitesides at Harvard University.

Professor Xu started his independent research in the Department of Chemistry at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) on the Aug. 2000. He is the recipient of the DuPont Asian & European Young Investigator Award (2001).

His research focuses on the applications of supramolecular chemistry to materials, nanoscience, and biological science.
