Biographical Notes

Hong Yang

Hong Yang received a B.S. degree from Tsinghua University in 1989, a M.S. degree from University of Victoria in 1994 and a Ph.D. degree from University of Toronto (with Professor Geoffrey A. Ozin) in 1998.  After a stint as a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) postdoctoral fellow with Professor George M. Whitesides at Harvard University, he started his research group at University of Rochester in 2001.  He was promoted to the rank of tenured Associate Professor in 2006.  Dr. Yang won one of the two Doctoral Prizes in Natural Sciences from NSERC in 1999 and currently holds a NSF CAREER Award.
