Biographical Notes

Dongyuan Zhao

Dongyuan Zhao was born in Northeastern of China, he received B.S. degree in 1984 from Jilin University, and M.S. degree from Jilin University in 1987. After received PhD in 1990 from Jilin University, he got faculty position in Department of Fine Chemical Engineering, Shenyang Institute of Chemical Technology as a lecturer, then promoted to associate professor in 1992. He has been abroad in 1992-1998 as a visiting scholar, post-doc fellow in University of Regina, Canada, The Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, University of California at Santa Barbara. From 1998, he works at Chemistry Department of Fudan University as a professor, now he is director of Advanced Materials Laboratory. Currently, he is a visiting professor in Department of Chemical Engineering, Monash University. He has got some awards from china such as Cheung Kong Program Special Professorship (2000), also some international awards, for example, DuPond Professor Award (2005). He is also a member of the editorial board of many international journals, such as the Chemistry of Materials, Chemistry, A Journal of Asian, Journal of Materials Chemistry, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science. He hold more than 250 peer-review papers and 39 patents. His current research interests include synthesis, structural characterization and applications on ordered porous materials, such as mesoporous materials, zeolites, and coordination polymers.
